Introduction
Excerpted and adapted from the Collège des médecins du Québec
Physicians who have a diploma of Doctor of Medicine awarded by a faculty of medicine outside Canada and the United States (DHCEU) may practice medicine in Québec by one of three approaches:

(1) Applying for Recognition of Equivalence of Doctor in Medicine Diplomas and Postdoctoral Training, or
(2) Obtaining a Restrictive Permit, or
(3) Graduating from faculties of medicine (in Québec, Canada or the United States). Contact medical schools directly for information regarding admission.

For a schedule of CMQ information sessions regarding options for IMGs, see the CMQ web site.

You may wish to discuss your individual situation with counsellors at the government of Québec information service on regulated professions:

255, boulevard Crémazie Est, 8e étage, bureau 8.01
Montréal (Québec) H2M 1M2
Tel: (514) 864-9191
