Health Care in New Brunswick

Health Care Facilities
There are fifty-one health facilities in New Brunswick. All are organized through one of eight Regional Health Authorities. All recruitment of physicians, whether for direct employment or independent practice, is done by a Regional Health Authority. Furthermore, in order to bill Medicare, the physician must have privileges with the Regional Health Authority. In other words, to practice in New Brunswick, physicians must have credentials acceptable to both the College and a Regional Health Authority.

Medical Licensure in New Brunswick

There is no medical school in New Brunswick. The province is affiliated with Medical Schools elsewhere in Canada, particularly in Quebec, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador.
