Foreign Physician Recruitment to Under-serviced Areas
Source: Excerpted from the Health Match BC site.
Foreign physicians may be considered for available positions in underserved communities if they are eligible for registration.

The underserved community will apply on behalf of the foreign physician for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC). After reviews both of the community's level of need and the qualifications of the physician, the CPSBC will make its decision. See Health Match BC web site for recruitment information.

Note: This program is applicable to an IMG with family physician designation who holds training acceptable to the CPSBC. With respect to specialists, this program considers those IMGs who hold a specialty certificate from a jurisdiction acceptable to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). For detailed information, visit the Royal College's website at RCPSC .
